Ethnic Cleansing of the Apache

Apache experienced ethnic cleansing around 1835, this occurred in Mexico. While most other tribes experience ethnic cleansing by governments “moving” or “relocating” the groups, the Government of Mexican State Sonora chose a much different route. The government ordered a bounty on all Apache men older than 13 years old. Which over time began to change into the government rewarding people for the scalps of the Apache. This bounty system was also used in different government states within Mexico. This happened because there was a current war between the Apache tribe and the Government of Mexico.
